Come one, Come all, to celebrate and thank Veterans for their Service. We will present War Medallions to Veterans and Family Members from 7 Wars dating back to World War I and up to Afghanistan.
For the past 3 months, members of the FLW Mid-Missouri AUSA Chapter have been visiting local agencies such as Waynesville/St. Robert Senior Center and Hughes Senior Center showcasing and signing up Veterans for the State of Missouri Veterans Recognition War Medallion Program.
The Missouri Veterans Recognition Program traces its roots to an April 23, 1919 Act of the Missouri General Assembly. This act authorized the Missouri National Guard Adjutant General to procure and present, as a token of the appreciation of the state, a medal to each member of the National Guard of Missouri who served with a Missouri unit and Veterans who served in the armed forces during the Spanish American War, Mexican Border Service or World War I.
Over time other Wars were listed, WWII,
Korea, Vietnam, Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Iraqi Freedom/New Dawn & Operation Enduring Freedom/Freedom's Sentinel/Operation Allies Refuge in 2024.
The application process is easy, fill out the request and attach Discharge Certificate ie. DD Form 214. Pass to us or mail yourself to address on the application.
